Luke Holton's musical journey began in St. Louis, Missouri, when his father gave him a guitar as a Christmas present in his teenage years. He became deeply absorbed in the instrument and practiced relentlessly, drawing inspiration from jazz greats like Wes Montgomery, and went on to perform both guitar and piano with bands in St. Louis's professional music scene.
He pursued formal training at Washington University in St. Louis, earning a degree in music. After graduating, he toured the United States for two years with an R&B band before returning to the St. Louis club scene and forming his own ensemble. He built a recording studio where he wrote and released original compositions under the band name "Nightwind" — a project that found renewed interest and was officially re-released by Sound Boutique Records at a San Francisco event.
Luke later relocated from St. Louis to pursue a corporate career, where he discovered a second passion for software design and development. He founded Desert Sky Software, and has spent the past two decades building custom database-driven web and mobile applications. Through it all, his dedication to music has never wavered, and he performs regularly throughout the Phoenix, Arizona area.
He also established Snoring Dog Music for composing and recording music for film and television, working out of Snoring Dog Recording Studio in central Phoenix.
